Asian Dry Rub
National Pork Board
A sweet rub with cinnamon, ginger and anise flavors.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp pepper, black, crushed
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp anise seed, crushed
1/4 tsp ground cloves
Preparation:
In a small bowl, stir together the spices.
Note: Rubs combine with the juices drawn from the meat and work like a dry marinade. Rub spice mixture evenly over pork, coating the entire surface. Cook pork as desired, or cover and refrigerate for 15 minutes to several hours to boost flavors.
