CranApple Crumble Pie
Mising Bowl

Ingredients:

Pastry for 9-inch single crust pie
8 Cortland apples
3 Tbsp. flour
2/3 cup white sugar
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 dash nutmeg
1 dash allspice
1 dash ginger
3 Tbsp. butter (cut in cubes)
3 Tbsp. bottled Cranberry Apple juice
1 cup dried, sweetened cranberries
1 large egg

Topping:

3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup quick oats
1/2 cup softened butter

Preparation:

Prepare crust according to your favorite recipe. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine 3 Tbsp. flour, 2/3 cup sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and ginger, and mix well.

Peel and slice apples. Sprinkle apples with the Cranberry Apple juice, then toss apples in the sugar and spice mixture, coating well. Add the dried, sweetened cranberries and stir well.

Roll out the bottom crust for the pie and fit into pie plate. Beat the egg and brush the inside of the crust with the mixture and set aside.

Topping:

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar and quick oats and cut in softened butter until crumbly. Pour coated apples into the crust and dot with the 3 Tbsp. butter. Sprinkle crumb topping over pie and bake at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes.

Reduce temperature to 350 degrees F and bake for an additional 35 - 45 minutes or until top is browned and juices begin to bubble around edge of pie. Cool completely before serving. Enjoy! Serves 8.
