Old-Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Old-Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Peaches, cloves and cinnamon all combine to produce a rich peach cobbler recipe.

Ingredients:


1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
4 tsp cornstarch
6 cups sliced fresh peaches
3 whole cloves
1 stick cinnamon
1 1/2 cups flour
3 tbs sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup chilled butter
1tspgrated lemon peel
3/4 cup milk
2 tbsp brandy (optional)

Preparation:


Combine brown sugar and cornstarch in slow cooker. Add peaches, cloves and cinnamon; stir.

Cover and cook on High 1 -2 hours in a slow cooker, stirring occasionally.
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter until particles are fine. Add lemon peel and milk; mix lightly with a fork until just combined.

Remove cover from electric cooker and drop batter by tbsp onto fruit mixture, spacing evenly.

Cover and cook on High 30 minutes.

Pour cream over individual servings whilst warm.

Serves 6
