Easy Sleepover Coffee Cake

Ingredients:

Cake:

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup buttermilk
2/3 cup butter, softened
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons dry milk powder
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Topping:

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 cup butter, melted

Preparation:

Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish. In a large bowl, combine all cake ingredients and mix together on low speed until well blended (about 4 minutes). Place mixture into prepared dish.

Mix all dry topping ingredients together and sprinkle on cake mixture. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

The next day, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Drizzle the cake with melted butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until the top is brown.

Notes:
You can make it the night before and just bake it in the morning. Perfect when you have overnight guests. I did have to bake it longer than 30 minutes, so I just kept poking it with a toothpick until it came out clean.
