Saucy Meatballs

Saucy meatballs cooked in a rich ketchup mustard wine sauce slow cooker style. Let the ingredients simmer and all is ready by the time you come home from work.

Ingredients:

1 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon vinegar
2/3 cup red or white wine
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1 cup soft bread crumbs
1 pound/ 450 g lean ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon seasoned pepper
3 tablespoons minced parsley
2 tablespoons grated onion
1/2 teaspoon extra Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons butter or margarine

Preparation:

Put ketchup, mustard, ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, and wine into an electric cooker. Mix.

Cover and cook on Low while preparing meatballs. Mix eggs, milk, and bread crumbs in a bowl. Add meat, salt, seasoned pepper, parsley, onion, and remaining Worcestershire sauce, mix lightly. Shape into small balls.

Heat butter in a skillet, add meatballs and brown on all sides. Add browned meatballs to sauce in cooker, mix. Cover and cook on Low 4-6 hours.

About 6 servings.
