Keith Richard's Shepard's Pie
This pie is rumored to be Kieth Richard's fave. Yeah 'that' Keith Richards. Notice that the vegetables are out of this pie. I'm sure the original was flavored with marlboro smoke eh?
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs, ground beef
1 cup yellow onion, chopped
2-3 garlic clove
1/2 tsp. sage
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. rosemary
4 tbsp. butter
2 tbsps. flour
1 cup beef stock
salt and pepper to taste
4 cups mashed potatoes
Preparation:
Melt butter in a large skillet and stir in the flour
Cook for a few minutes until mixture is smooth and blended Slowly stir in beef broth and continue cooking into gravy is thickened, about 5 to 8 minutes Add the rest of the ingredients, except mashed potatoes and stir well to mix. Cook on medium low for 10 minutes Put mixture in a 2 quart casserole and spread the potatoes evenly on top.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 40-45 minutes or until meat is bubbling hot and the mashed potatoes are browned.
