Apple-Cinnamon Syrup
It's hard to improve on maple syrup and a pat of butter atop steaming waffles or pancakes, but if you're looking to spice up your short stack, this variation using apple jelly and cinnamon is sure to please.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups maple syrup
1/3 cup apple jelly
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch table salt
Preparation:
Simmer all ingredients in small saucepan over medium-low heat until slightly thickened, 5 to 7 minutes. Makes about 1 3/4 cups
